NAME: Robin Rand
TITLE: President/CEO

General (Ret) Rand entered the United States Air Force in 1974 and served for over 44 years, that included six overseas assignments; multiple flying assignments and duty as an air liaison officer with the U.S. Army; studies at the Naval War College; Pentagon staff assignments as a policy planner on the Joint staff, principle director for Middle East policy for the Office of the Secretary of Defense, director, Legislative Liaison for the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force, special assistant to the Vice Chief of Staff, USAF; and eight different command tours. TITLE: Executive Vice President / COO

General (Ret) Thomas E. Kunkel serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at the Kyl Institute for National Security where he leverages more than 30 years of distinguished service in the U.S. Air Force and NATO. He brings deep expertise in operations, strategy, and leadership from a career dedicated to advancing national security and organizational excellence.

TITLE: Vice President / Chief of Staff

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of Kyl Institute for National Security, a non-profit, 501(c)3 corporation. Kyl Institute for National Security was established to support the strategic vision and land grant mission of the University of Arizona by leveraging its strengths in optics, cyber operations, hypersonics, quantum information science, space situational awareness and other research disciplines to execute national security projects or other conditional or restricted activities that cannot otherwise be easily executed directly by University of Arizona.
